July Empties

Le Petit Marseillais Extra Soft Honey Shampoo

Although this shampoo was nice to use during winter, I won't repurchase it. Firstly because I grew tired of the scent; secondly since I don't think it fits my hair/scalp type.

Verdict: Leave it!

Le Petit Marseillais Shea Milk & Honey Conditioner

I honestly don't know why I keep trying conditioner: I hate the feeling of it on myself. I didn't use it after shampooing, since I find any conditioner feels heavy and greasy on my lengths. I used it beforehand, as I would a hair mask and then shampooed to rinse off. I would rather buy a hair mask next time: it's more hydrating and this conditioner is too hard to spread evenly.

Verdict: Leave it!

Bioderma Créaline H2O

Same old, same old...

Verdict: Love it!

Kanebo Sensai Silk Purifying Silk Peeling Powder sample

It is not a bad product: I simply won't purchase the full size bottle, as it's VERY expensive. Also, I don't think its effect justifies the price tag. But, it was nice to use, the skin was left silky smooth. I understand a powder is efficient in keeping bacteria at bay, as it contains no water inside, but I am not a fan as I find it harder to get the right amount; then when you add water, the texture is difficult to apply.

Verdict: Leave it!

13 Summer Essentials in 2013: What I Like When It's Hot!

PROTECTION

1. Sunscreen

This is top of my skincare must-haves. Please don't forget to protect yourself from the sun, whether it be for health (melanoma) or aesthetic (wrinkles, dark spots) prevention. Did you know you CAN get tanned even when not directly exposed, in the shade? No need to be in the sun, especially between noon to 4pm.

2. Sunglasses

Again, an essential to protect your eyes from sun reflection. I would go directly for category 3 (category 4 can't be worn when driving).

3. Hat

Don't forget your head! You might otherwise get burned, although it's covered with hair!

STYLE

4. Sundresses

Love a simple sundress: it's easy to throw on, lightweight, airy, feminine.

5. Flat Sandals

Comfortable enough to walk when it's hot, but still elegant and smarter than flip flops while in the city (don't get me wrong, I love flip flops too at the beach, camping or chilling out in the garden...)

6. Khaki

Quite an elegant, neutral colour which compliment many other colours in my opinion: white, black, grey, navy, pink, neon lime, coral...

7. White

Love a white airy top: men shirt, lace blouse, linen tee, etc. It works with anything!

8. Navy Stripes

My breton origins are speaking up!

BEAUTY

9. Thermal Water Spray

Not strictly essential, but I am used to it and like it, even after each face cleanse.

10. Red Toe Nails

A classic and elegant pop of colour colour!

11. Bold Lips

Time to get fun colours out there! Easy to put on and touch up, it instantly brightens the face up, so that you don't need much effort with the rest, especially when it's hot and you really can't be bothered to put makeup on.

MISC

12. Good Books

Any selection you fancy! Summer is the time to enjoy (more) reading time :)

13. Escape

Most than anything, I really love going away on holiday, whether it be in France or abroad. Love to escape the routine, love a breath of fresh air, love discovery.
